Madou Elijah Diarrassouba

Madou Elijah Diarrassouba, also known as “Soub,” is a former athlete now director and producer who opened his own production company, Soub's Films, in 2020. In October of 2025, he created and founded “Africa Told By Us” with the intention of serving as a bridge between the continent of Africa and the Diaspora.

Growing up under the two separate cultures of his American mother and African father, Madou struggled with finding his identity among his peers due to the narratives and misunderstandings between Africans and African Americans. This inspired him to create Africa Told By Us to provide a space for both cultures to come together and ultimately realize that while their experiences may differ, they are more alike than different and rooted in the same origins.

Some of Madou’s work includes producing player spotlight stories for multiple athletic programs, shadowing director Keesha Sharp on Fox’s Our Kind of People, serving as an assistant director on Amazon Prime’s upcoming documentary Soulpower, directing commercials, and coaching young athletes.
